Position Overview:

The Analyst will be part of the Small Core Team that falls under the Small/Mid Value Equity Group, a ten-person team, located in the Boston, MA office. The Analyst would work directly with the Small Core portfolio manager as the only dedicated generalist who can follow a number of sectors/industries. This entails analyzing sectors and industries and making recommendations directly to the Portfolio Manager. This position has the possibility of career movement to more portfolio management responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA / CFA preferred
  • 3-5 years buy-side analyst experience (few industries preferred)
  • Preferably has experience with small capitalization stocks
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate large amounts of information in succinct manner
  • Curiosity about the capital markets and proven ability to create successful investment ideas
  • Accountabilities:

  • Cover stocks in $200M - 2B range
  • Provide ongoing support to lead Portfolio Manager
  • Conduct company research – including financial analysis, due diligence on industry trends, company managements and strategies
  • - Build and update financial and valuation models

    - Synthesize and assess financial, industry data

    - Conduct primary research through industry sources

  • Draft reports/notes on relevant investment themes, events, and breaking news
  • Participate in marketing efforts for Small Core Portfolio
  • Interface with and make recommendations to Portfolio Managers and clients
  • Attend industry conferences
